MY FIRST OIL PAINTING
Created this piece, with the tongue in cheek title, while following a "HowTo" exercise in a book.
Beneath this rather clumsy impressionism is a very detailed grissaille, or grey layer. Having no
idea about glazing layer opacity levels I just lathered on the paint and completely
covered everything beneath. An x-ray of this painting will look pretty good.
This hidden truth is one of the reasons I really love this paintng.
